Communication Activities of Daily Living, 3rd Ed. (CADL-3), by Audrey L. Holland, Davida Fromm, and Linda Wozniak is an individually administered assessment of the functional communication skills of adults with neurogenic communication disorders. Given in about 30 minutes, it contains 50 items assessing communication activities in seven areas: reading, writing, and using numbers; social interactions; contextual communication; nonverbal communication; sequential relationships; humor, metaphor, and absurdity; and internet basics. Stimulus book includes real photos, allowing for a greater sense of realism. Examiner Record Booklet includes administration instructions to increase examiner’s ease of use. Items pertaining to the basic use of technology, including mobile phones, the internet, and email have also been added. Updated standardization sample (2014-2016) was collected.
